Detailed Description

Permanent Site: C1 West Transect; Depth: Meters (Feet); Distance from river mouth: 0.7 Kilometers (0.4 Miles); Pre/Post Dam Removal: 1 month pre-dam removal; Lat/Long: 48.14525225,-123.57361291; Site Description: Substrate is clean sand with scatterings of gravel. Patches of brown seaweed, mainly Alaria marginata (0:19 seconds) and Saccharina spp., and red algae (0:13 seconds) are present. Strands of bull kelp Nereocystis luetkeana are also seen (0:05, 0:33, 0:59 seconds). Invertebrates are scarce. A sunflower sea star Pycnopodia helianthoides (2:12 seconds) is seen on the video as well as a ratfish, Hydrolagus colliei (0:55 seconds). This video goes to the end of the transect where the center post of the site can be seen (2:30 seconds).
