Detailed Description

Permanent Site: J1 East Transect; Depth: 9.1 Meters (30.0 Feet); Distance from river mouth: 6.7 Kilometers (4.1 Miles) east; Pre/Post Dam Removal: 2 years post-dam removal; Lat/Long: 48.13607725,-123.47935008; Site Description: This site is medium depth. Substrates has remained mainly a gravel/sand mixture. Seaweed density is still greatly decreased. Four species of brown seaweed were recorded and consist mainly of the perennial seaweed Pterygophora californica (0:10, 0:24 seconds) and Saccharina spp. (0:51, 1:08 seconds). Larger reds are present and are frequently found growing around the base of the abundant feather duster tubeworm Eudistylia vancouveri (0:59, 1:44seconds). Other invertebrates seen on video: hermit crab wearing an orange sponge (1:38 seconds).
