MRLC Releases New Website
The Multi-Resolution Land Characteristics Consortium (MRLC) would like to announce the release of our updated website. The website redesign was undertaken in anticipation of the release of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) National Land Cover Database (NLCD) 2016, which is scheduled for spring 2019.
The new site includes many new and updated features in a free, open source and mobile-friendly platform. Among the additions: A searchable publications database and an active viewer that allows users to open, lock, link, and pan through multiple datasets in multiple windows.
The MRLC consortium, of which USGS is a founding member, has also redesigned the website to better highlight more than 20 years of partnership among federal agencies, with direct links to partner websites and summaries of some of their contributions.
The MRLC partnership exists to help coordinate and generate consistent and relevant land cover information at the national scale for a wide variety of environmental, land management, and modeling applications. These agencies, users, and the public served by these partners benefit greatly from the shared resources and vision provided by this enduring consortium.
