What disclaimer statement(s) are required for a USGS scientific software information product? [134]

Software projects are hosted within a version control system (VCS). A VCS supports multiple internal references (such as branches or tags). Each internal reference that is not associated with a USGS scientific software information product must include a “DISCLAIMER.md” file containing the exact wording from the USGS FSP provisional software disclaimer. Conversely, the static reference (such as, Git tag) associated with the USGS scientific software information product must include a “DISCLAIMER.md” file containing the exact wording from the USGS FSP-approved software disclaimer. 

Additional disclaimers and non-endorsements may also be included in the “DISCLAIMER.md” file as described in the USGS FSP Guidance on Disclaimer Statements Allowed in USGS Science Information Products.
