Adherence to Fundamental Science Practices (FSP) ensures all USGS scientific information, including AI-generated outputs, is reliable and accurate in accordance with FSP Survey Manual (SM) policy SM 502.4. Compliance with FSP includes testing for data quality assurance validation and transparency in methodologies (SM 502.8) and rigorous peer review (SM 502.3). Data and software, if not already publicly available, are released in accordance with the USGS Public Access Plan and the Federal Open Source Code requirements.
