USGS scientific software information product review and reconciliation documents may be attached to an IPDS record to document the process. Many science centers have developed internal software review checklists that may be used to document the software review. Determining specifically what does or does not satisfy this requirement is left to the discretion of the science center-delegated approving official.

If your center does not have a preferred software review checklist that also acts as an inventory of documents and/or links to relevant resources, consider creating a summary “readme” or software review inventory that describes the overall software review strategy, provides links and/or description of all pertinent documents in the IPDS record, and provides your science center approving official with information needed to help them understand how each of the software review criteria have been met.
