Data Releases

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Coastal Bathymetry and Backscatter Data Collected in June 2021 from Rockaway Peninsula, New York Coastal Bathymetry and Backscatter Data Collected in June 2021 from Rockaway Peninsula, New York

Scientists from the U.S. Geological Survey St. Petersburg Coastal and Marine Science Center in St. Petersburg, Florida (USGS-SPCSMC), conducted a geophysical survey nearshore the Rockaway Peninsula, New York, during June 2021. During this study, multibeam bathymetry and acoustic backscatter data were collected aboard the R/V Sallenger. Efforts were supported by the National Fish and...

Datasets for Rapid Assessment of Streambank Erosion Potential for Selected Streams throughout the Greater Raleigh Area, North Carolina, 2022 Datasets for Rapid Assessment of Streambank Erosion Potential for Selected Streams throughout the Greater Raleigh Area, North Carolina, 2022

As part of a collaborative study with the City of Raleigh, North Carolina, the U.S. Geological Survey is assessing streambank erosion potential in selected stream reaches throughout the Greater Raleigh metropolitan area. Rapid field measurement techniques were used to assess streambank stability at 124 stream segments between January and March 2022. Field data were collected using the...

Keys Carbonate Budget Calculations and Analysis Keys Carbonate Budget Calculations and Analysis

The code 'Keys Carbonate Budget Calculations', written in R (v.4.0.4; https://www.R-project.org/), uses benthic coral-reef survey data and fish survey data to calculate coral-reef carbonate budgets following the ReefBudget v2 methodology (http://geography.exeter.ac.uk/reefbudget/; Perry and Lange, 2019). The carbonate budgets include estimates (means +/- standard errors) of gross...

Mangrove Peat Radiocarbon Ages From Snipe and Swan Key, FL Mangrove Peat Radiocarbon Ages From Snipe and Swan Key, FL

In 2016, researchers collected cores of mangrove peat from two islands in the Florida Keys: Snipe Key (24.679 degrees N, 81.653 degrees W) and Swan Key (25.349 degrees N, 80.251 degrees W) (Fig. 1). This data release contains the radiocarbon ages and associated data for peat samples analyzed throughout the two cores. These data were used by Khan and others (2022) to reconstruct the...

MODFLOW 6 - LACP MODFLOW 6 - LACP

MODFLOW 6 - LACP uses the MODFLOW 6.4.0 source code and modifies the Horizontal Flow Barrier (HFB) package to allow simulation of vertical hydraulic conductance (CV) by connection rather than by cell, an option available for previous versions of MODFLOW (USG). The MODFLOW 6 - LACP HFB package is used to simulate thin, vertical, and low-permeability geologic features (barriers) and acts...

Organic and inorganic constituents in surface water and native and non-native fish and frog health data collected from streams, impoundments and wetlands in the New Jersey Pinelands, 2017-2020 (ver. 1.1, August 2022) Organic and inorganic constituents in surface water and native and non-native fish and frog health data collected from streams, impoundments and wetlands in the New Jersey Pinelands, 2017-2020 (ver. 1.1, August 2022)

The data presented include concentrations of 122 organic, 23 inorganic constituents, and estrogenicity in water collected from 13 off-stream non-point source sites (natural and created wetlands) and eight on-stream point source sites (streams and impoundments) in the New Jersey Pinelands, 2017-2020. Native and non-native fish health data collected from the on-stream sites as well as...
