Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Classified Cover Mapping to Support Preliminary Assessment of Aquatic Invasive Vegetation (Ludwigia spp.) in the Willamette River, Oregon: Albany and Salem Reaches Classified Cover Mapping to Support Preliminary Assessment of Aquatic Invasive Vegetation (Ludwigia spp.) in the Willamette River, Oregon: Albany and Salem Reaches
Since 2008, large-scale restoration programs have been implemented along the Willamette River, Oregon, to address historical losses of floodplain habitats for native fish. For much of the Willamette River floodplain, direct enhancement of floodplain habitats through restoration activities is needed because the underlying hydrologic, geomorphic, and vegetation processes that historically...
Selected Ciénega and Surrounding Floodplain Polygons of the Greater Madrean Archipelago Ecoregion Selected Ciénega and Surrounding Floodplain Polygons of the Greater Madrean Archipelago Ecoregion
Ciénegas are freshwater to brackish wetlands in arid and semi-arid regions of North America, although they are primarily found in the southwestern U.S. and northwestern Mexico at elevations usually below 2000 meters. They are associated with groundwater or actively moving fresh water that historically resulted in perennial surface waters persisting for decades to centuries. The extent of...
Length and dry mass of adult aquatic insects emerging from wetlands in the Prairie Pothole Region, North Dakota, USA, 2015-2016 Length and dry mass of adult aquatic insects emerging from wetlands in the Prairie Pothole Region, North Dakota, USA, 2015-2016
This data release includes individual lengths, total dry mass, and taxonomic classification for a subset of adult aquatic insects captured emerging from the surface of wadeable wetlands in cropland and grassland landscapes across a salinity/hydrology gradient (N = 14 wetlands in 2015, N = 15 wetlands in 2016). Sampling was completed in late spring, after ice off was complete and during...
One-dimensional hydraulic and environmental DNA transport models for the Wallens Bend reach of the Clinch River, near Kyles Ford, Tennessee One-dimensional hydraulic and environmental DNA transport models for the Wallens Bend reach of the Clinch River, near Kyles Ford, Tennessee
This dataset includes the one-dimensional HEC-RAS model calibration files and simulation input and output files for the Wallens Bend (WB) reach on the Clinch River near Kyles Ford, Tennessee. Simulation results were used as input for environmental DNA transport models.
Sediment Laboratory Quality Assurance Project Data, 1999 - 2024 Sediment Laboratory Quality Assurance Project Data, 1999 - 2024
The collection and analysis of fluvial sediment samples has been an integral part of hydrologic studies in the United States for over 125 years (Gordon and others, 2000). Accurate measurement of sediment concentrations and its movement in streams is critical to maintaining important infrastructure and habitats in the Nation’s waterways, such as impoundments and estuaries (Hudson and...
Effects of Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis and methylmercury on survival of amphibians across the United States Effects of Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis and methylmercury on survival of amphibians across the United States
The U.S. Geological Survey conducted sampling across the United States between 2017 and 2022 to assess the effects of methylmercury bioaccumulation and amphibian chytrid fungus (Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis; Bd) on the survival of amphibian species. This dataset includes detections and non-detections of Bd (obtained from DNA extracted from skin swabs) and whole-body methylmercury...
