Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Invertebrates enumerated from the diets of larval pallid sturgeon (Scaphirhynchus albus) and shovelnose sturgeon (S. platorynchus) in the Upper Missouri River, Montana and North Dakota in 2019 Invertebrates enumerated from the diets of larval pallid sturgeon (Scaphirhynchus albus) and shovelnose sturgeon (S. platorynchus) in the Upper Missouri River, Montana and North Dakota in 2019
An inventory (enumeration and taxonomic identification) of diet items consumed by wild-caught larval pallid sturgeon and larval shovelnose sturgeon, based on the examination of gut contents from fish that were collected in the Upper Missouri River drainage of the U.S.
Groundwater-Level Altitudes and Long-Term Groundwater-Level Changes in the Chicot and Evangeline (Undifferentiated) and Jasper Aquifers, Greater Houston area, Texas, 2021 Groundwater-Level Altitudes and Long-Term Groundwater-Level Changes in the Chicot and Evangeline (Undifferentiated) and Jasper Aquifers, Greater Houston area, Texas, 2021
The geochemical data included here were generated as part of the Earth Mapping Resources Initiative (Earth MRI), which was developed by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in response to a Federal directive calling on various Federal agencies to address potential vulnerabilities in the Nation's supply of critical mineral resources. Earth MRI is a partnership between the USGS, State...
Target-Chemical Concentrations, Exposure Activity Ratios, and Bioassay Results for Assessment of Mixed-Organic/Inorganic Chemical Exposures in Northeast Iowa Private-Well Tapwater, 2018 Target-Chemical Concentrations, Exposure Activity Ratios, and Bioassay Results for Assessment of Mixed-Organic/Inorganic Chemical Exposures in Northeast Iowa Private-Well Tapwater, 2018
In the United States and globally, contaminant exposure in unregulated private-well point-of-use (POU) tapwater (TW) is a recognized public health data gap and an obstacle to both risk management and homeowner decision making. To help address the lack of data on broad contaminant exposures in private-well TW from hydrologically vulnerable (alluvial or karst) aquifers in agriculturally...
Thiaminase activity measurements in whole zebrafish Thiaminase activity measurements in whole zebrafish
Data describe results of a set of laboratory experiments using a previously described quantitative thiaminase I activity assay to test the thiaminase activity of whole zebrafish homogenates. Parameters described include the thiaminase activity data, dilution factors, incubation time, and tissue weight assayed. Experiments were conducted at the USGS Columbia Environmental Research Center...
Stream water chemistry and benthic macroinvertebrate data from the North Fork Clear Creek and Clear Creek, Colorado, USA, from 2011-2019, before and after acid mine drainage treatment Stream water chemistry and benthic macroinvertebrate data from the North Fork Clear Creek and Clear Creek, Colorado, USA, from 2011-2019, before and after acid mine drainage treatment
Stream water chemistry and benthic macroinvertebrate data collected in the North Fork of Clear Creek and Clear Creek, CO, USA before and after the diversion and treatment of acid mine drainage by a high-density sludge lime process water treatment plant. Stream water chemistry and benthic macroinvertebrate samples were collected from November 2011 through October 2019 at 6 sites located...
Mass mortality of collector urchins (Tripneustes gratilla) in Hawai`i Mass mortality of collector urchins (Tripneustes gratilla) in Hawai`i
As grazers, sea urchins are keystone species in tropical marine ecosystems, and their loss can have important ecological ramifications. Die-offs of urchins are frequently described but their causesare often unclear, in part because systematic examinations of animal tissues at gross and microscopic level are not done. In some areas, urchins are being employed to control invasive marine...
