Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

American alligator growth simulation and integrated population model American alligator growth simulation and integrated population model
The software consists of three scripts to be run in the R statistical program: 1) Alligator growth simulation; 2) alligator integrated population model file; and 3) data visualization script. Script #1 produces growth transition probabilities that are used in script #2. The second script uses the outputs from #1 as well as other data files to run an integrated population model. The last...
Integrated population model for red knot in Delaware Bay Integrated population model for red knot in Delaware Bay
This is code for an integrated population model developed to understand the effect of horseshoe crab abundance on population demographics of red knot, an Arctic-breeding shorebird. This model was developed as part of the revision to the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission Adaptive Resource Management Plan for horseshoe crabs.
Evaluation of Hydrodynamic Mixing in Keswick Reservoir, California, 2021-22 Evaluation of Hydrodynamic Mixing in Keswick Reservoir, California, 2021-22
California's State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) wishes to quantify how water and constituents introduced via the outflow from the Spring Creek Diversion Dam mix with water within Keswick Reservoir. Of primary interest is the degree of dilution that exists when this introduced flow reaches the main stem of Keswick Reservoir, and how this mixing is influenced by different...
A reference genome assembly for the endangered Aga or Mariana Crow (Corvus kubaryi) A reference genome assembly for the endangered Aga or Mariana Crow (Corvus kubaryi)
The Aga, also known as the Mariana Crow, is an endangered endemic crow of the Northern Mariana Islands, a Commonwealth of the United States of America. The only known population currently extant is on the island of Rota and has been in decline over the past two decades. Unknown pathogens are among the factors that may be contributing to this decline. To support metagenomic and...
Environmental Sampling of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances in the Middle Chickahominy River Watershed, Virginia, 2021-2022 (ver. 2.0, September 2023) Environmental Sampling of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances in the Middle Chickahominy River Watershed, Virginia, 2021-2022 (ver. 2.0, September 2023)
These data were collected to understand the occurrence of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) in the middle Chickahominy River watershed. Specifically, this effort was initiated to: 1. Determine concentrations of PFAS in surface water at select locations in the middle Chickahominy River watershed; 2. Determine concentrations of PFAS in edible portions of fish at select locations...
Common loon migration and winter data: telemetry locations and archival geolocator tag location (ver 2.0, October 2022) Common loon migration and winter data: telemetry locations and archival geolocator tag location (ver 2.0, October 2022)
The data details common loon locations based on archival geolocator tag information, characteristics of common loon dives during wintering, and common loon locations based on telemetry data. Satellite transmitters (Model PTT-100, Microwave Telemetry, Inc) were implanted in 31 adult male (marked during July 2010 and July 2011) and 27 juvenile (marked during August 2014 and August 2015)...
