Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Predicted Ecological States of the Semiarid Warm Sandy and Loamy Uplands Ecological Site Group in the Upper Colorado River Basin, Based on Vegetation Functional Group Cover Data from 2021 Predicted Ecological States of the Semiarid Warm Sandy and Loamy Uplands Ecological Site Group in the Upper Colorado River Basin, Based on Vegetation Functional Group Cover Data from 2021
This dataset provides a predictive ecological state map for the Southwest Sandy and Loamy Uplands Ecological Site Group (ESG). We developed a machine learning approach to predict ecological states by training vegetation cover data from three remotely sensed datasets—Rangeland Analysis Platform (RAP), Rangeland Condition Monitoring Assessment and Projection (RCMAP), and Landscape Cover...
Juvenile Virile Crayfish (Faxonius virilis) length, weight, and consumption after a 28-day sublethal nickel exposure with associated water quality data Juvenile Virile Crayfish (Faxonius virilis) length, weight, and consumption after a 28-day sublethal nickel exposure with associated water quality data
Data was collected in association with the exposure of aqueous nickel (NiCl2-H2O) to juvenile crayfish (Faxonius virilis) for 29 days at different concentrations to observe any differences in growth (after 28 days) and food consumption (on day 29). Data for the growth component of the study included crayfish wet weight (initial and final), final carapace length, and crayfish sex. The...
U-Pb detrital zircon geochronology data for Jurassic terranes in the western Sierra Nevada, CA U-Pb detrital zircon geochronology data for Jurassic terranes in the western Sierra Nevada, CA
This dataset consists of three turbidite sandstone samples that were analyzed for U-Pb detrital zircon ages. The dataset accompanies the publication "An empirical test of Maximum Depositional Age through paired LA-ICP-MS and CA-ID-TIMS detrital zircon analysis: implications for the "Nevadan orogeny" in the Sierra Nevada foothills, California, U.S.A.", as well as planned future...
Dust flux and ecological flux predictor data following utility-scale solar energy development in the Mojave Desert, 2023-2025 Dust flux and ecological flux predictor data following utility-scale solar energy development in the Mojave Desert, 2023-2025
These data were compiled to evaluate the impacts of large-scale solar energy development on wind-borne dust production. Objectives of the study were to evaluate dust produced during construction and operation of solar energy facilities constructed using varying construction methods. We also collected data on plant and soil variables that are known to be important predictors of dust...
Pickle Pond pre-restoration orthomosaic and elevation products, Superior, Wisconsin, September 2022 Pickle Pond pre-restoration orthomosaic and elevation products, Superior, Wisconsin, September 2022
The orthomosaic, digital surface model and point cloud presented here document conditions at Pickle Pond in Superior, Wisconsin in September 2022, prior to planned ecological restoration. Images were collected using a 3D Robotics Solo aircraft with GNSS GPS upgrade, Mission Planner software, and a Pentax Ricoh GRII 3-band digital camera sensor. Imagery acquisition flights were...
Channel Mapping of the Colorado River in Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona - April 2014, river miles 61 to 88 — Data Channel Mapping of the Colorado River in Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona - April 2014, river miles 61 to 88 — Data
Bathymetric, topographic, and grain-size data were collected in May 2014 along a 27 mile (43.5 kilometer) reach of the Colorado River in Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona. The study reach begins at river mile 61.1, about 0.6 miles (1 kilometer) above the confluence of the Colorado and Little Colorado Rivers and ends at river mile 88.1 at the upstream boundary of the Bright Angel Rapid...
