Data Releases

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Data Support for a Statistical Perspective on the Petrologic Utility of Polyphase Groundmass Compositions Inferred Via Defocused Beam Electron Probe Microanalysis Data Support for a Statistical Perspective on the Petrologic Utility of Polyphase Groundmass Compositions Inferred Via Defocused Beam Electron Probe Microanalysis

This dataset contains major and trace element compositions for a sample of basalt recovered from Rangitoto Island, New Zealand. Both bulk rock and microanalytical observations are made and presented. Electron probe microanalysis (EPMA) results detail the compositions of individual phases within the basalt including olivine, clinopyroxene, plagioclase feldspar, glass, and polyphase...

Characterizing projected future (2056-95) droughts in south Florida based on the Multivariate Adaptive Constructed Analogs (MACA) downscaled climate dataset from the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 5 Characterizing projected future (2056-95) droughts in south Florida based on the Multivariate Adaptive Constructed Analogs (MACA) downscaled climate dataset from the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 5

The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) and the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) have evaluated projections of future (2056-95) droughts for south Florida based on climate model output from the Multivariate Adaptive Constructed Analogs (MACA) downscaled climate dataset from the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 5 (CMIP5). The emission scenarios evaluated include...

Fiber-optic distributed temperature sensing, seepage meter, vertical temperature profiler, water level, water quality, and streambed thermal property data collected to better understand groundwater and surface water connectivity at two sites in the Illino Fiber-optic distributed temperature sensing, seepage meter, vertical temperature profiler, water level, water quality, and streambed thermal property data collected to better understand groundwater and surface water connectivity at two sites in the Illino

As part of the US Geological Survey's Next Generation Water Observing Systems Program (NGWOS) Research and Development efforts in the Illinois River Basin, two intensive technology 'testbed' locations were established for the purpose of conducting a detailed groundwater and surface water interaction study regarding the fate and transport of excess nutrients. Specifically, nitrate is...

Abandoned Mine Land (AML) Geochemical Data: Emery County, Utah Abandoned Mine Land (AML) Geochemical Data: Emery County, Utah

During August of 2014, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) collected a total of 187 surficial sediment and bedrock samples from abandoned mine wastepiles, ephemeral channels below wastepiles, nearby outcrops, and background areas representative of the undisturbed lithology within Emery County, UT. The samples were clustered into four different groups: Buckmaster Draw (BM), Dry...

MODFLOW-NWT model to simulate the groundwater flow system of the Kitsap Peninsula, West-Central Washington MODFLOW-NWT model to simulate the groundwater flow system of the Kitsap Peninsula, West-Central Washington

A three-dimensional groundwater flow model, constructed in MODFLOW-NWT, was developed to evaluate the groundwater flow system of the Kitsap Peninsula, west-central Washington. A transient model was constructed to simulate groundwater flow for January 1985–December 2012 using annual stress periods for 1985–2004 and monthly stress periods for 2005–2012. The model was used to simulate six...

Wood Thrush Movement and Occupancy Wood Thrush Movement and Occupancy

This code contains multiple scripts that (1) analyze Wood Thrush movement data, (2) simulate Wood Thrush movements in an individual-based model, and (3) analyze the results from these simulations.
