The USGS periodically updates its National Seismic Hazard Models (NSHMs) for the United States and its territories. For each NSHM update, the USGS requests that the seismic hazard community bring to our attention new earthquake source and ground motion data or models that could be included. The deadlines for these community contributions, and the schedule for each NSHM update (including public workshops), are given below.
Tabulated below are the deadlines for community contributions to the 2026 update for Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (GNMI), the 2025 update for Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands (PRVI), and the 2023 update for the conterminous United States, Alaska, and Hawaii (50-State).
