Aaron C Heisey
I am a fish biologist on the Fish Passage Design and Analysis team within the Eastern Ecological Science Center at the S.O. Conte Research Laboratory in Turners Falls, MA.
My background and current research is broadly focused on fish conservation and ecology. With the Great Lakes Science Center, my work centered on a range of native species issues from thiamine deficiency in lake trout, to coregonine spawning site restoration. Currently, I work at the intersection of movement ecology and behavior to address fish passage research priorities. Our work focuses on an array migratory fish species including American shad, river herring, sea lamprey, Atlantic salmon and sturgeon.
