Dr. Cee Nell is an environmental data scientist in the Data Science Branch of the USGS Water Resources Mission Area.
Cee is the Lead of the Open Data Science Team in the USGS Water Mission Area. In this role they support open science through the development of science communication products, data pipelines, and software packages that leverage USGS data.
Cee’s background is in data science and ecology. They received a PhD in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology from the University of California Irvine in 2018 as well as a certificate in Data Science through the University of California Data Science Initiative. They started as a Data Visualization Specialist with the USGS Vizlab in 2020 and have been a core contributor to the water data visualization portfolio.
