Middle Devonian to Late Mississippian event stratigraphy of Overthrust belt region, western United States Middle Devonian to Late Mississippian event stratigraphy of Overthrust belt region, western United States
Twenty eustatic and epeirogenic events mainly dated by conodonts are distinguished between the Middle Devonian and the lower Upper Mississippian in Great Basin, in Rocky Mountains and in the Overthrust belt regions.

Devonian eustatic fluctuations in Euramerica Devonian eustatic fluctuations in Euramerica
The Devonian System of Euramerica contains at least 14 transgressive-regressive (T-R) cycles of eustatic origin. These are separated into three groups (or depophases) and from Carboniferous cycles by three prominent regressions. Twelve post-Lochkovian T-R cycles are recognized, and they commonly appear to result from abrupt deepening events followed by prolonged upward shallowing...

Late Devonian icriodontid biofacies models and alternate shallow-water conodont zonation Late Devonian icriodontid biofacies models and alternate shallow-water conodont zonation
Recognition of differences in the habitats, apparatuses, and ranges of Late Devonian Icriodus and Pelekysgnathus permits refinement of their biofacies interpretations and construction of an alternate icriodontid zonation. Icriodus is a euphotic genus that predominated in most environments during the early Late Devonian (Frasnian) but died out during the early Famennian. Its apparatus...

Stratigraphic and economic significance of Mississippian sequence at North Georgetown Canyon, Idaho Stratigraphic and economic significance of Mississippian sequence at North Georgetown Canyon, Idaho
The Mississippian sequence exposed at North Georgetown Canyon, Idaho is newly recognised as a facies belt, which adds to knowledge of Mississippian stratigraphy and petroleum geology in the Overthrust belt of Idaho, Wyoming, and Utah. In the newly recognized facies belt in the Aspen Range, the Madison Group is represented by the Lodgepole Limestone and Mission Canyon Limestone. The...

Biostratigraphic guide to Upper Devonian and Mississippian rocks along the Wasatch Front and Cordilleran hingeline, Utah Biostratigraphic guide to Upper Devonian and Mississippian rocks along the Wasatch Front and Cordilleran hingeline, Utah
This paper provides a guide to measured sections of Upper Devonian (Famennian) and Mississippian (Kinderhookian, Osagean, and Meramecian) rocks visited on a three-day field trip between Provo, Utah, on the Wasatch Front and the Crawford Mountains in the Overthrust Belt along the Utah-Wyoming State line. The field trip, sponsored by the Pander Society, was held on April 30-May 2, 1978 in
