D. Christopher Leeth

Chris Leeth is a Hydrologist at the South Atlantic Water Science Center.

Chris began his career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Savannah District as a field geologist in 1990. Chris transferred to the U.S. Geological Survey Georgia Water Science Center in 1993 where he continued work in the field as a hydrologist in support of a number of large scale field projects including work on the Savannah River Site Underflow Study.  He became the project chief for contaminant fate and tranport work that was occuring on Kings Bay Naval Submarine base in 1995.  In the late 90's Chris moved in to a management role as the Chief of the Groundwater information and project support unit where he directed the work of a staff of hydrologic technicians.  In 2002 Chris took over the role as the chief of the Areal Studies Section supervising a staff of hydrologists, technicians, and geographers.  In 2008 Chris became the chief of the information management section. In 2014 Chris became chief of Ground Investigations and Technical Services in the Georgia Water Science Center where he supervised a staff of hydrologists, geographers and computer system adminstrators. With the consolidation of the the Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina Water Science Centers into the South Atlantic Water Science Center (SAWSC) in the latter part of 2014, Chris's role changed to primarily one of support. He currently is the Collateral Duty Safety Program Coordinator and a content manager and web developer using php, MySQL and the Drupal content management system (CMS). In 2023 Chris was appointed the SAWSC Reports Specialist.
