Mineral Resources of the Antelope Wilderness Study Area, Nye County, Nevada Mineral Resources of the Antelope Wilderness Study Area, Nye County, Nevada
At the request of the U.S. Bureau of land Management, 83,100 acres of the Antelope Wilderness Study Area (NV-4)60-231/241) was studied. In this report the studied area is called the 'wilderness study area', or simply the 'study area.' No identified mineral or energy resources occur within the study area. The southern part of the area has moderate mineral resource potential for...

Middle Devonian to Late Mississippian event stratigraphy of Overthrust belt region, western United States Middle Devonian to Late Mississippian event stratigraphy of Overthrust belt region, western United States
Twenty eustatic and epeirogenic events mainly dated by conodonts are distinguished between the Middle Devonian and the lower Upper Mississippian in Great Basin, in Rocky Mountains and in the Overthrust belt regions.

Quantitative analysis versus semiquantitative optical emission spectrographic analysis of chromium, nickel, zinc, vanadium, and molybdenum in organic-rich Paleozoic marine strata, Western United States Quantitative analysis versus semiquantitative optical emission spectrographic analysis of chromium, nickel, zinc, vanadium, and molybdenum in organic-rich Paleozoic marine strata, Western United States
Comparison of analytical results between the quantitative method and the semiquantitative six-step optical-emission spectrographic method commonly shows significantly lower values for the semiquantitative method. The lower values are most obvious for splits from the same samples of fine-grained organic-rich rocks where the concentrations of the metals chromium, nickel, zinc, vanadium...

Metals in Devonian kerogenous marine strata at Gibellini and Bisoni properties in southern Fish Creek Range, Eureka County, Nevada Metals in Devonian kerogenous marine strata at Gibellini and Bisoni properties in southern Fish Creek Range, Eureka County, Nevada
A kerogen-rich sequence of siliceous mudstone, siltstone, and chert as much as 60 m thick on ridge 7129 in the southern Fish Creek Range, referred to as Gibellini facies of the Woodruff Formation, has been evaluated on the surface and in drill holes principally for its potential resources of vanadium, zinc, selenium, molybdenum, and syncrude oil content. The strata are part of a strongly...
