Gari Mayberry

Biography

Gari Mayberry is the USAID Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA) Geoscience and Natural Hazards Advisor. She is a geologist/volcanologist who provides guidance and technical assistance on program development, disaster response, and mitigation activities in the fields of earthquakes, volcanoes, landslides, and tsunamis to OFDA, non-governmental organizations, and international organizations, as well as other bureaus in USAID. She serves as liaison with the US Geological Survey (USGS), from which she is seconded, and assists in managing two interagency agreements between OFDA and USGS. Gari also explains complex technical information for OFDA and a wide variety of humanitarian organizations.
