Monica L Langhorst
Monica joined the USGS as a Hydrologic Technician in 2008. Her primary expertise is water-quality and she has experience in surface water and groundwater gaging.
Monica currently serves as the water-quality lead for the Austin Field Unit where she oversees and coordinates all water-quality activities. Her experience includes continuous monitoring and both groundwater and surface-water sampling and data management. She also serves as the Oklahoma-Texas Water Science Center water-quality database administrator. Through this role she provides service to staff at all levels making the database more accessible, efficient and relevant to their workflow and data needs. Additionally, Monica is a member of the Oklahoma-Texas Water Quality Specialist Team focusing on field and data review to ensure consistency across the center, address training needs, and facilitate communication. Monica earned a BS in Biology from Texas State University-San Marcos in 2008.
