Sydney is the lab manager of the USGS Bee Lab. She specializes in developing techniques for collecting, processing, and databasing native bee specimens collected through pollinator surveys across the United States. She promotes education on native bees through outreach events to the general public and helps teach the Pollinator Field Sampling and Laboratory Techniques course, which is designed to teach DOI researchers proper pollinator sampling methods. She also uploads high-resolution images of native bees on the Lab's Flickr and Instagram pages.
