Tristan Austring

(He/Him)

Tristan is a physical scientist working as a sediment laboratory analyst, LDM, and sediment lab liaison for all USGS sediment labs, working in New Mexico WSC's sediment lab, which provides services to sediment programs across the nation.

Tristan worked with threatened and endangered fish species of New Mexico, ecologic impacts of drought, and fish hatchery programs before coming to USGS. At USGS he has focused on suspended sediment collection, surface water measurements and gaging, and analysis of these field data using standard methods and R scripting. Tristan is now a sediment laboratory technician, bringing his years of field experience collecting samples to the NM Sed Lab along with R scripting to assist other projects at the NMWSC with data interpretation.
