Dr. Lucy Jones Visits Tokyo For Invited Talk at ISS Symposium
Dr. Lucy Jones travelled to Japan to give an invited presentation on earthquake resilience for the 27th ISS Symposium “An Intergenerational Dialogue with Women Pioneers in DRR: Diversity and Risk Governance”. Dr. Jones was asked to speak at the symposium by Dr. Jackie Steele from the University of Tokyo (a convener at the symposium) who also met with Dr. Jones during the trip. The two began collaboration during a visit by Dr. Jones last year and will continue discussing opportunities toward the creation of a partnership between the NPO Women’s Eye and organizations in California to connect women in communities who are working to increase their resilience and preparedness for future earthquakes.
