This segment from a southern California radio station features WERC ecologist Adrian Das as he describes rates of tree mortality following the state's severe drought.

Adrian Das is an ecologist working for scientist Nate Stephenson out of Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks. As part of a long-term study, Das collaborates with the National Park Service and others to monitor the influence of drought, disease, insect attacks, and other threats on tree mortality in the Sierra Nevada. A recent audio piece and accompanying article from southern California news station 89.3 KPCC quotes Das as an expert on the current tree mortality rates and uncertain outlook for forests in both parks.
