The Lake Tahoe Summit is an annual event that brings local, federal, and state leaders together to discuss ways to protect Lake Tahoe and strengthen the partnership underlying the Lake Tahoe Environmental Improvement Program. This year’s summit took place on Wednesday, August 14 at Round Hill Pines Beach Resort in Zephyr Cove, Nevada. The event was hosted by U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto from Nevada and included the following speakers: Serrell Smokey from the Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California, Sen. Jacky Rosen of Nevada, Sen. Laphonza Butler of California, U.S. Representative Mark Amodei of Nevada, and U.S. Representatives John Garamendi and Kevin Kiley of California. The keynote speaker for the event was U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg.
