The Environmental Chemistry Branch has a modern laboratory facility with dedicated spaces for sample preparation, inorganic and organic analyses.
A suite of common and custom methods for analyzing inorganic and organic chemicals in various environmental matrices are used by the Environmental Chemistry Branch.
Facilities and equipment include specialized preparatory and instrumental laboratories housing a suite of gas and liquid chromatography systems, low and high resolution mass spectrometers, inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer, a direct mercury analyzer, an ion chromatography system, and various preparative instruments.
The Environmental Chemistry Branch utilized varied levels of quality assurance/quality control measures to meet both data quality and collaborator’s needs.
