Habitat and Species Modeling

Species have evolved intimate relationships with the natural environment.  However, humans are creating novel conditions outside of the range of natural variability historically experienced.  Such changes result in species extirpations and shifts in distribution and abundance across the landscape.  Researchers at Leetown Science Center are investigating, modelling, and predicting how aquatic fish and freshwater mussel species respond to alterations in environmental parameters.
