Metagenomics
Metagenomics is the study of the genomes of organisms recovered directly from the environment and the goal of a metagenomic analysis is to get a “snapshot” of the whole community in order to help deterimine 1) Who is there?; 2) What are they doing?; and 3) How do they compare to each other? Researchers at Leetown Science Center are developing new tools and techniques to provide resource managers with genomic information relevant to management and conservation.
