Statistics and information on the mining industry in Belize.

Overview

In 2024, Belize was not a globally significant producer of mineral commodities. Production of cement represented only a minor part of the economy of Belize. Industrial minerals may have been produced, but available information was inadequate to make reliable estimates of output. The legislative framework for the mineral sector in Belize is provided by the Mines and Minerals Act, Chapter 226 of the Substantive Laws. The Minister of Natural Resources oversees the mineral sector and provides the administration, processing of permits, and field inspections. Most mineral commodities were produced by private companies.
