Statistics and information on the mining industry in Brunei.

Overview

In 2024, Brunei was not a globally significant producer of mineral commodities. Production of industrial minerals represented only a minor part of the economy of the country. Mineral commodities produced in Brunei included industrial minerals such as cement; the country did not produce metallic mineral commodities in 2025. The legislative framework for the mineral sector in Brunei is provided by the Mining Act (1920, revised 1984). The Department of Energy oversees the mineral sector and provides services including issuing licenses and leases. Most mineral commodities were produced by domestic and foreign public and private companies.
