The Gambia

In 2024, The Gambia was not a globally significant producer of mineral commodities. Production of mineral commodities represented only a minor part of the economy of The Gambia. Mineral commodities produced in The Gambia included industrial minerals, however, available information was inadequate to make reliable estimates of output for these mineral commodities. The legislative framework for the mineral sector in The Gambia is provided by Mines and Quarries Act of 2005. The Ministry of Petroleum and Energy oversees the mineral sector and provides the monitoring of mineral, energy, and petroleum resources of The Gambia. Most mineral commodities were produced by private companies.
