Statistics and information on the mining industry in Singapore.

Overview

In 2024, Singapore was not a globally significant producer of mineral commodities. Production of mineral commodities represented only a minor part of the economy of the country. Mineral commodities produced in Singapore included refined secondary gold, refined secondary silver, raw steel, and steel products. The legislative framework for the mineral sector in Singapore is provided by the Sand and Granite Quarries Act of 1970 (revised 2020) and the Deep Seabed Mining Act of 2015 (revised 2020). The Ministry of Trade and Industry oversees the minerals sector per the Deep Seabed mining Act of 2015 (revised 2020). Most mineral commodities were produced by domestic and foreign private companies.
