STUDY OBJECTIVES:
The objective of this project is to provide technical support to U.S. Department of Defense (Army, Navy, Air Force). The choice of sites requiring USGS technical assistance will be made in consultation with base/facility personnel.
STATEMENT OF PROBLEM:
The U.S. Department of Defence (Army, Navy, Air Force) needs assistance in gathering information about regional environmental conditions at their facilites and in technically assessing ongoing and planned environmental investigations at these sites.
STRATEGY AND APPROACH:
USGS personnel will provide technical support to U.S. Department of Defense personnel by collecting environmental data, performing hydrologic investigstions, attending public meetings and technical discussions with other regulatory organizations, and will technically review workplans, reports and other documents, as required. USGS will provide retrievals of data from USGS databases, also hydrogeologic reports. USGS will prepare reports on for any data collection and investigation that is performed.
