Hydrologic Trends Analysis on selected Texas streams
The USGS provides technical advice or assistance to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is a worldwide organization that provides engineering services, environmental restoration, and construction support for a wide variety of civil and military projects. The primary civil mission of the USACE is developing and managing the nation's water resources. USACE develops projects to reduce flood damage, improve navigation channels and harbors, protect wetlands, and preserve, safeguard, and enhance the environment.
Currently the USACE has a large lake and reservoir data collection program with the U.S. Geological Survey in Texas.
In addition, the USGS provides support for the following activities:
- Installing gage instrumentation, including salinity monitors, streamgages, precipitation, wind sensors, and lake elevation monitors.
- Regionalized skew study for the Upper Trinity River Basin
- Hydrologic assessments for multiple basins, including the Upper Trinity and Brazos.
- Model reviews for environmental impact assessments
- Collection of High Water Marks following Hurricane Harvey
