About

NGGDPP promotes preservation and accessibility to geoscientific data and samples by providing financial and technical support to state geological surveys and the U.S. Geological Survey. The Program's ReSciColl (formerly the National Digital Catalog) provides public access to collections of documents, datasets, photographs, samples, and other geologic materials available for research.

National Geological and Geophysical Data Preservation Program

The National Geological and Geophysical Data Preservation Program (NGGDPP) was created in the Energy Policy Act of 2005 to promote the preservation, archiving, and availability of geologic, geophysical, and engineering data, maps, well logs, and samples for research.
