Create Structure Tab

If you notice that a structure collected by TNMCorps isn’t yet represented by a point on the map, then you can create one via the Create Structure tab.

Clicking on the Create Structure tab will open a window displaying a comment field (when zoomed in to the editing extent), each of the structure types categorized by FCode (feature code), and attribute fields where you can enter the structures name, address, city, state, and zip code.

Clicking on one of the structure icons will create a new point on the map. From there, you can add attribute information, move the point to the desired location, and save your edits. The options at the top of the Create Structure window allow you to zoom to the structure, cancel the editing session, undo changes, and save changes.

    • How to Add a New Structure

Occasionally you will come across a structure collected by The National Map Corps that is not yet represented by a point on the map. In this case, you can create a new point to represent that structure! (Don’t forget to look around nearby for existing points that might be in the wrong location).
