Continuous Hydrologic and Meteorological Monitoring Data Adjacent to USGS Streamgages 01434498 and 01435000 in the Neversink Reservoir Watershed, New York, 2019–2024
This data release contains time-series data sets from two Next Generation Water Observing Systems (NGWOS) innovation test beds (USGS site numbers 01434498 and 01435000) within the Neversink River watershed, New York. These datasets are organized by station-specific child items which include the following components:
Piezometer Records – Continuous measurements of specific conductance values collected from sensor networks installed along the streambanks, streambed, and adjacent floodplains.
Subsurface Temperature Profiles – Continuous vertical sediment temperature data collected at 5 depths (0, 5, 10, 30, and 50 cm) below the streambed and land surface on nearshore banks.
Soil Sensor Data – Continuous soil temperature, soil moisture, bulk conductance, and dielectric permittivity data collected from six depths (2, 8, 13, 20, 30, and 50 cm) in side-by-side floodplain monitoring pits.
Meteorological Observations – Continuous atmospheric data including relative humidity, solar radiation, barometric pressure, wind direction, wind speed, and wind gust speed.
A streamgage location shapefile ("station_lat_longs.zip") is available on this main page, while sensor location shapefiles (“01435000_lat_long.zip” and, “01434498_lat_long.zip”) are provided within their respective child item.
Additional data for both sites can be accessed through Water Data for the Nation (WDFN) at 01434498 and 01435000.
