Data Estimating Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) Electric-Resources for the Great Basin, USA

June 10, 2025

This data release summarizes and documents the results of computations in support of the enhanced geothermal systems (EGS) fact sheet estimating electric-power resource potential for the Great Basin, USA (Burns and others, 2025b). All computations use the equations and best estimate values of parameters given in Burns and others (2025a). Temperature at each depth from Burns and others (2024) is used to construct three-dimensional electric-power density maps, which is used to create two-dimensional maps of power-density above each depth, and ultimately a cumulative resource estimate for the Great Basin as a function of depth (results shown in Burns and others 2025b).
