Emiquon Preserve and Spunky Bottoms Preserve Aerial Imagery Mosaics

Located in the floodplain of the Illinois River near Havana, IL, Emiquon is one of the largest floodplain restoration projects in the Midwest. The Nature Conservancy (TNC) and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) manage a TNC preserve and FWS National Wildlife Refuge in this area. In 2012, the Emiquon National Wildlife Refuge was designated a “Ramsar Wetland of International Importance.” Aerial imagery was collected and processed to create high-resolution, georectified mosaics of the Emiquon Preserve and the Spunky Bottoms Preserve for the purposes of habitat monitoring. Aerial imagery collected in 2016 and 2017 is true color (RGB). Aerial imagery collected from 2018-2022 is 4-band imagery that can be displayed as either RGB or color-infrared.
