FLOwPER Database: StreamFLOw PERmanence field observations derived from Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) Water Report, May 2012 - September 2024
IMPORTANT NOTE: This dataset includes spatial locations where streamflow permanence observations (continuous flow and dry) were recorded and stored as part of the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) water report (https://pctwater.com/) and subsequently processed to align with the FLOwPER (FLOw PERmanence) field survey available in Survey 123. Additional information to describe the field conditions are included as part of the field observation. The PCT water report is a volunteer forum to provide information of drinking water sources for hikers along the PCT. Field observations correspond to known locations with associated geographic coordinate information based on survey-grade GPS devices. However, field observations in this dataset have not been processed for quality control including additional spatial data accuracy or association with a stream network such as the National Hydrography Dataset. This data release is formatted as a shapefile that includes streamflow permanence observations with associated information. The spatial extent of this dataset extends along the Pacific Crest Trail in California, Oregon, and Washington.
