Geochemical data for rock, sediment, soil, and mineral samples, United States and territories, 1962 to 2023
The data set contains geochemical data for 1,524,014 rock, sediment, soil, and mineral samples collected by the U.S. Geological Survey within US state, territory or Economic Exclusive Zone (EEZ) boundaries, and analyzed from 1962 through 2023 either in the analytical laboratories of the Geologic Discipline of the USGS or by contract with commercial analytical laboratories. These data represent analysis of samples collected in support of various USGS programs and projects. Retrievals from the legacy National Geochemical Database (NGDB-Legacy), the USGS Mineral Resources Program laboratory information management system (LIMS), the NURE National Uranium Resource Evaluation-Hydrogeochemical and Stream Sediment Reconnaissance databases (NURE-HSSR), and the Alaska Geochemical Database Version 4.0 (AGDB4) were used to generate a relational database. The tables in the database describe quantitative and qualitative geochemical analyses, including analytical results determined by 108 laboratory and field analytical methods in 25 laboratories.
