High-resolution Topographic data, RGB orthomosiacs, and Digital Surface Models (DSMs) from Vaughn Canyon, Arizona, derived from 2020 and 2026 Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) surveys
This dataset contains high‑resolution orthomosaics, digital surface models (DSMs), vegetation masks, and a DSM of Difference (DoD) quantifying topographic change in Vaughn Canyon, Arizona, between UAS surveys conducted in 2020 and 2026. The DSMs were generated from imagery captured using DJI Phantom and DJI M3M platforms and processed in Agisoft Metashape. Bare‑earth pixels were isolated using vegetation‑masking thresholds. A limit of detection (LoD), estimated using normalized median absolute deviation (NMAD) from stable surfaces, was applied to distinguish genuine topographic change from survey noise. The resulting DoD documents spatial patterns of erosion and deposition across the main channel and adjacent floodplain, supporting quantitative geomorphic interpretation.
