Hyperspectral profiles of Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs) and other algae, 2024
This dataset is a collection of hyperspectral imagery profiles of algae, many of which are associated with Harmful Algae Blooms (HABs). Data were collected using a microscope-based hyperspectral imaging system with the cooperation of the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Samples were collected from U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Maryland Department of Natural Resources, and the Regional Science Consortium water quality sampling efforts, to include water quality parameters where available and algal biomass. Seven water bodies were sampled: Upper Klamath Lake (UKL), OR; The Lake, Central Park, NY; Saint Mary's River State Park, MD; Wye Mills Dam, MD; Perry Point, MD; Rock Creek, MD; and Lake Erie, PA. Data are shown in basic hyperspectral imagery form, normalized to 1.
