Luminescence Data for Multiple Episodes of Quaternary Displacement on the Meeman-Shelby Fault, Eastern Arkansas

October 22, 2026

The luminescence data consists of 14 cores that provide the geochronology of the eastern principal fault of the Meeman-Shelby horst. The M-S fault has ~ 23 m of down-to-the-east displacement on the base of 16.2 ka Pleistocene alluvium, and 10 m of this displacement occurred between ~ 16.2 ka and ~ 12.7 ka, with an average vertical slip rate of 2.9 mm/yr. The base of the 12.7 ka Holocene alluvium has ~ 13 m of vertical displacement that occurred in at least two events.
