Metaproteomic data associated with produced waters collected from the Antrim Shale in Michigan, 2024

September 9, 2026

This data release contains metaproteomics data related to produced water samples collected from natural gas wells completed in the Antrim Shale (Michigan basin, MI). These data can be used to investigate microbial community organic matter degradation and methanogenesis. Results include thousands of proteins with a wide range of different functions including organic matter degradation, methanogenesis, biosynthesis, energy production, transport, structure, cellular processes, and stress response.
