Petrochronologic data for Proterozoic rocks from the Mojave Desert and Mountain Pass areas, California and Nevada
This data release contains in situ geochronologic and geochemical data for zircon, titanite, apatite, biotite, and feldspar from Proterozoic rocks of the eastern Mojave Desert, California and Nevada, including the Mesoproterozoic Mountain Pass intrusive suite and its Paleoproterozoic host rocks. Data include zircon U-Pb and trace-element compositions, titanite U-Pb and trace-element compositions, apatite U-Pb, Lu-Hf, and trace-element compositions, and Rb-Sr isotopic and elemental compositions of biotite and coexisting K-feldspar, plagioclase, and apatite, all determined by laser ablation-inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) or by laser ablation-inductively coupled plasma-triple quadrupole-mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS/MS), together with a summary of interpreted ages. These data support studies of the age, petrogenesis, deformation, and mineralization of these rocks and the Mountain Pass rare earth element deposit.
