Seasonal High Streamflow Generation Regions Model Inputs and Predictions for the Conterminous United States

December 29, 2025

This data release contains input data tables and results from analysis to predict seasonal high streamflow generation regions of the conterminous United States. Input data consists of landscape characteristics, climate variables, and streamflow metrics at selected USGS streamflow gages as well as the same landscape characteristics and climate variables at ungaged locations. Results from a cluster analysis of the selected gages and a prediction model estimating probability of region membership for 2.1 million ungaged basins are included.
Additionally, a model application containing the files mentioned above and additional outputs, code, and documentation is also included in this data release. The model application can be used to recreate the output provided in this data release. The documentation explains how the data can be used and provides more detail on each file. If desired, the contents of folders in _targets.zip, and model_code_and_outputs.zip (1_fetch.zip, 3_cluster.zip, and 6_predict.zip) can be moved into their respective folders in the main code directory to view our model outputs.
