The Coupled-Ocean-Atmospherre-Wave-Sediment Transport Modeling System (COAWST) modeling system currently contains the following sophisticated systems:
Coupler: Model Coupling Toolkit (MCT) - a set of open-source software tools for creating coupled models.
Ocean: Regional Ocean Modeling System (ROMS) - a free-surface, terrain- following, primitive equations ocean model widely used by the scientific community for a diverse range of applications.
Atmosphere: Weather Research and Forecast Model (WRF) - a next-generation mesoscale numerical weather prediction system designed for both atmospheric research and operational forecasting applications. Hydrologic Rainfall-Runoff Model (WRF_Hydro) - both a stand-alone hydrological modeling architecture as well as a coupling architecture for coupling of hydrological models with atmospheric models.
Wave(s): Simulating Waves Nearshore (SWAN) - a third-generation wave model that computes random, short-crested wind-generated waves in coastal regions and inland waters. WAVEWATCH III - a state-of-the-art spectral wave modeling system Infragravity wave model (InWave) - Infragravity wave driver.
Sediment Transport: USGS Community Sediment Models (CSTMS) - an open-source numerical model for sediment-transport in coastal regions.
Sea Ice: Sea Ice Model
