February 19, 2025
This dataset provides walrus haulout group outlines in a shapefile format and haulout area sizes in csv format. These data are based on visual interpretation of imagery from aerial surveys by a small uncrewed aerial system (sUAS) operated by the U.S. Geological Survey Alaska Science Center, over large groups of walruses resting onshore near Point Lay, Alaska during September of 2024 and 2025.
