Carl J Beno
Carl Beno is a Research Geologist with the Geology, Minerals, Energy, and Geophysics Science Center in Tucson, AZ
Carl is an economic geologist with broad scientific interests in critical mineral systems. His work is focused on the distribution and petrogenesis of porphyry and other critical mineral systems across the southwestern United States. His research explores igneous and metamorphic processes that drive the formation of plutonic rocks, and associated mineral systems, in shallow crustal settings. Carl integrates geochemical, isotopic, and textural analyses to model the evolution of ancient hydrothermal systems and is currently applying innovative petrochronologic techniques to determine the longevity of hydrothermal fluid flow in these environments.
